Hi Everyone,
Happy New Years Eve Eve 🙂 This is going to be a very brief post to share a few items I have made recently using patterns I have previously sewn. Without further ado…

This skirt was made using Simplicity 8175. You can see my first version of that skirt here. This time round I made the following changes:
- I did a 0.5 inch full tummy adjustment
- I did a 0.25 inch sway back adjustment
- I lengthened the skirt by 1.5 inches

The fabric for this version came from Fabworks Online, and is a stretch wool suiting (now sold out). I prewashed this fabric and it is very comfortable to wear.

The shirt was made using my TNT go-to easy-to-sew shirt pattern, Simplicity 8014 (modified). You can see my last version of this shirt here. The fabric is a fabulous printed viscose twill featuring cats and chains, and was purchased from Patterns and Plains. Couple of things you need to note about this fabric if you do purchase it: 1. I think it has a subtle directional print. You might not realise it at first, the cats seem fairly random, but actually, the majority of cats are orientated a particular way so take care when cutting. 2. There is an obvious wrong side with this fabric, so bear that in mind with pattern choice. But, overall, I love this shirt and I am happy to have it in my wardrobe.

And finally, I wanted a glam but easy to wear top for the festive season, and came across some metallic coated rayon on eBay. I will be honest, this fabric was actually much bolder when bought, but a prewash resulted in a much more toned down fabric. Still blingy enough, but I am not sure how much this fabric can stand up to. But it has already been worn several times and it was a great last minute addition to my wardrobe.

I used the Sew Over It pussy bow blouse, which I have made 3 times before, (see here for the last version). Each time I make this blouse I seem to tweak it, and this time I made the following changes:
- Widened neck collar band/ tie by 1.5 inches
- Widened cuff by 1.5 inches and cut 4, rather than 2, and sewed 2 together to make the cuff
- Added three small buttons to the cuff
- Did a 1 inch full arm adjustment

I wish all of my lovely readers and followers a happy New Year. This year threw me a curved ball and I do think sewing played a part in helping to recover from that. I am grateful to be back to normal and looking forward to see what the next decade will bring.
See you soon! x
Your blog brightens my day and gets me enthused to get stitching. Thanks for your honesty and down to earth reviews
