Shortlisted

Dear Friends,

I have some exciting news and a favour to ask of you.

Remeber this coat I made for Kezia?

I entered it into The Dressmaker of the Year Competition, and it has been shortlisted in two categories: the childrens wear category (which will be decided by the judges), and also in the Readers Choice category – which is where you come in. I would be so grateful if you could take a moment to click on this link and go vote for me!

Voting is open until 25th April and if you do vote you will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win a bundle of 11 sewing books and subscription to Sew or Make it Today magazine – that’s a prize worth over £230.

It’s a great honour to have been shortlisted and tomorrow I have to parcel the coat off and send it off to be judged! Exciting.

Until soon. I mean, how could you resist that little face? 🙂

By day I work in the exciting world of pharmaceutical regulatory affairs, registering medicines (!), but by night I turn in to a sewing diva, making all manner of clothes in my beautiful sewing space (which you can tour using the link at the top of this blog). I love how sewing and sewing clothes that fit my curvy body continually challenges me. I enjoy working with all different types of fabric, and whilst I don't like to put restrictions on myself and say I won't buy RTW, the truth is that I probably rarely do buy it, preferring the fit of my own me-made clothes. I love to use natural fibres where ever possible and colourful coats are an obsession of mine! Sewing is both my addiction and my therapy. You can contact me at sewmanju@yahoo.co.uk

    1. Hey Sue, I am getting messages from people who are not in this country who say they have successfully voted so I am guessing you can vote, but it maybe that you are not eligible for the prize.

  1. I’m in the US and had no problems voting. I admired this coat when you posted it and good luck! Beautiful job. I frequently order from Linton Tweeds and the fabrics are wonderful. Congratulations on being among the finalists.

  2. That’s fantastic. I loved this coat and so beautiful on Kezia. I think the model might have something to do with it! Have voted for you, fingers crossed.
