Linton Tweed Fabric Giveaway

Linton Tweed Skirt Length Giveaway
Linton Tweed Skirt Length Giveaway

Hi Readers,

I have  mentioned before that Linton Tweeds is in my hometown of Carlisle. To celebrate 2 years of blogging (which was actually at the start of this month), I have a special giveaway.

One lucky reader will win a skirt length of genuine Linton Tweed. It is (IMO) beautiful fabric. I would say this particular length is more of a winter weight. It is black in colour, with greyish white and metallic royal blue threads running through it. It measures 140 cm width x 1m in length.

It is hard to capture the true beauty of this fabric!

Anyway, if you would like a chance to win, all you have to do is leave a comment below. The giveway is open until 12pm GMT, on Sunday 7th September. I will then pick a winner randomly. The giveway is open worldwide.

See you all soon!

By day I work in the exciting world of pharmaceutical regulatory affairs, registering medicines (!), but by night I turn in to a sewing diva, making all manner of clothes in my beautiful sewing space (which you can tour using the link at the top of this blog). I love how sewing and sewing clothes that fit my curvy body continually challenges me. I enjoy working with all different types of fabric, and whilst I don't like to put restrictions on myself and say I won't buy RTW, the truth is that I probably rarely do buy it, preferring the fit of my own me-made clothes. I love to use natural fibres where ever possible and colourful coats are an obsession of mine! Sewing is both my addiction and my therapy. You can contact me at sewmanju@yahoo.co.uk

  5. I just found your blog about a month ago and I love seeing a woman with some curves make clothes, particularly dresses, for herself, since this kind of scares me. Once I finish the things I’m working on now for other people, I’m going to start making some things for ME!

  6. I am a lover of Linton tweed fabric. I would love to win this fabric. Thank you for doing this. Andrea Birkan

  7. Happy blogaversary from the San Francisco Bay Area! I love your blog. You have the best taste in matching fabric to style. I spent several wonderful days in Carlisle a few years ago; I took the Leeds to Carlisle train then on to Edinburgh. There is so much history there in your city.

  8. Congratulations ! 2 years : ) I’ve been reading your blog since I came back to sewing 2 years ago too, count me in please, fingers crossed x

  9. Two years is good because after a while it gets hard when all you really want to do is sew and blogging takes time. I’m currently doing the Butterick quilted jacket using your review, well I did view A first as as try out and added zip pockets. You gave me some really useful tips for the main event. Living near Linton, absolute heaven!

  10. Made a special trip to Linton many years ago (I live in Northern Ireland) and it was fabric paradise! If I was like you and lived near Linton’s shop I would be bankrupt!!!! Would love to win this fabric length thanks 🙂

  11. Oh I am excited for this one! Sewing skirts is what got me back into sewing after 20 years. I have beautiful curves that are hard to fit in clothing stores. I am excited to try new patterns with beautiful fabric like this one

  12. How interesting to have a textile company in your hometown — much more exciting that my hometown’s main industry (a prison). This tweed is so beautiful. Congrats on two full and exciting blogging years so far!

  13. I’m a happy follower of yours. I’m impressed with your makes and I look forward to each of your posts. Your attention to detail about each outfit, it’s pros and cons, and your lovely pics are pleasure to read and see. Congratulations on 2 years of blogging. I’ll be having a blogaversary later this year when I get to 400 posts, or 350 followers, which ever comes first.

Do you belong to other sewing sites, such as Kollabora, The Monthly Stitch, Pattern Review? If you don’t, you should definitely check out the fun!

  14. Happy anniversary. I love reading your blog. I love the fabric and will have to look into it further. It would make a perfect skirt for my daughter who just finished her law degree and has got her first job x

  15. What a lovely fabric! I’m so glad I found your blog, as your explanations are perfect to get a good idea of whether or not I will like a patter.

  16. That is beautiful fabric! I’m trying to develop a wardrobe following the ‘Starting from Scratch’ worksheet from The Vivienne Files, and this fabric has two of my basic colours 🙂 Also, I have very fond memories of childhood holidays in the norther Lake District, just south of Carlisle…

  17. Oh my what beautiful tweed! May you continue to find happiness in your blog for years to come! Happy blog anniversary!🌻🎂🎉

  18. Congrats on your 2 year anniversary. The fabric looks amazing but am glad I don’t live in the same town as Linton – it could be hard on the budget.

  19. Congrats on a fabulous blog. I so admire you taking the time to share. The tweed looks perfect for a very professional looking pencil skirt for what I hope is a very professional teacher librarian.
